Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Orygn LLC, the Texas company that operates the GradeSlate website and service ("GradeSlate," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use gradeslate.com.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers for targeted advertising. We collect what we need to run the service, and nothing more.
1. Overview
GradeSlate is a daily sports prop picks and analytics service intended for adults in the United States. This policy applies to the information we handle through our website and service. By using GradeSlate, you agree to this Privacy Policy. It works alongside our Terms of Service.
2. Information We Collect
We collect a limited amount of information, in three ways.
Information you give us
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password. Your password is handled by our authentication provider and is stored only in a securely hashed form -- we never see or store your actual password.
- Waitlist information. If you join our waitlist, we collect your email address and, if you choose to provide it, your name.
- Communications. If you email us or contact support, we keep your messages and contact details so we can respond and keep records.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage information. We record how you use the service -- for example, which picks you reveal and when -- so we can operate features such as monthly free reveal limits and improve the product.
- Device and connection information. Like most websites, we receive technical information such as browser type, device type, and IP address. For waitlist signups, we store your IP address only as a one-way hashed value -- not the raw address -- which lets us detect abuse without keeping that identifier.
- Analytics. We use a privacy-friendly analytics tool (Vercel Analytics) that does not use cookies and gives us only aggregate, non-identifying information about site traffic and performance.
- Sign-up source. For waitlist signups, we may record basic referral information such as the referring page and marketing campaign tags in the link you used, so we understand how people find us.
Payment information
Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and processes your card and billing details directly under its own privacy policy. We do not receive or store your full card number. From Stripe we receive only limited information needed to manage your subscription, such as a customer and subscription identifier, your subscription status, and renewal dates.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to:
- Create and maintain your account and provide the service;
- Process subscriptions, billing, and renewals through Stripe;
- Send you service messages you need -- such as email confirmations, password resets, billing notices, and important account or service updates;
- Send product news, launch announcements, and other updates if you joined our waitlist or created an account -- you can opt out of these at any time (see Section 8);
- Protect GradeSlate -- detecting, preventing, and responding to fraud, abuse, security issues, and violations of our Terms;
- Understand how the service is used and improve it; and
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these limited situations:
Service providers
We use trusted third-party companies to run GradeSlate. They may handle your information only to provide services to us, under agreements that require them to protect it:
- Supabase -- database hosting and account authentication, including authentication emails.
- Stripe -- payment processing and subscription billing.
- Vercel -- website hosting and privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics.
- Cloudflare-- the bot-protection check ("captcha") on our waitlist form.
- Zoho (ZeptoMail) -- delivery of certain emails, such as waitlist confirmations and notices.
Legal and safety
We may disclose information if we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or government request, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of GradeSlate, our users, or others.
Business transfers
If GradeSlate or Orygn LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will require the recipient to honor this Privacy Policy or notify you of any material change.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We keep our use of cookies minimal. We use essential cookies that are required to run the service -- mainly to keep you securely logged in. Our analytics tool is cookieless, and our waitlist captcha provider may set a cookie only as needed to confirm you are human.
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party ad trackers, and we do not allow third parties to track you across other websites through GradeSlate. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but if you block essential cookies you may not be able to log in or use parts of the service.
6. Data Retention
We keep your information only as long as we need it. In general:
- Account information is kept while your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for legal, security, accounting, and legitimate business purposes;
- Waitlist information is kept until you have had the chance to create an account after we launch, or until you ask us to remove it;
- Aggregate or hashed information that does not identify you may be kept longer.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or remove what identifies you.
7. How We Protect Your Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information. Connections to GradeSlate are encrypted in transit, passwords are stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider, and payment card data is handled by Stripe rather than by us.
No website or method of storing data is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and keep your login details private.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You have control over your information, and we honor reasonable requests regardless of where in the United States you live:
- Access and update. You can review and update your account information from your Account page, or by emailing privacy@gradeslate.com.
- Delete. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal information by emailing privacy@gradeslate.com. Some information may be retained where the law allows or requires it.
- Marketing emails. You can opt out of promotional emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in those emails, or by contacting us. We will still send essential service messages (such as confirmations, billing notices, and password resets) while you have an account.
- Waitlist removal. You can ask to be removed from the waitlist at any time by contacting us.
To make any request, email privacy@gradeslate.com from the address associated with your account, or include enough detail for us to locate your information. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
9. Children's Privacy
GradeSlate is intended only for adults who are at least 21 years old. It is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact privacy@gradeslate.com and we will delete it.
10. Third-Party Sites and Services
GradeSlate may reference or link to third-party websites and services, such as sportsbooks. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. When you leave GradeSlate, this Privacy Policy no longer applies; review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we will provide reasonable notice, such as by email or a notice on the site. Your continued use of GradeSlate after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
12. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, contact us at privacy@gradeslate.com.
